Is your teen struggling with low self-esteem, negative thoughts or even isolation? We all are capable of living fulfilling lives, sometimes we just need the tools to get there. My experience working with teens and young adults have allowed me to be successful in helping teens change their mindset. My theoretical approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but I do believe in meeting the client where they are. My primary focus is working with teens and women who have experienced trauma in their lifetime. Let me help you become the best version of yourself, the version you have yet to imagine.

Are you someone who struggles with anxiety, depression, self-doubt and negative thoughts? Do you sometimes feel like giving up and lack motivation or support? We all deal with daily life struggles and sometimes it becomes overwhelming. Having someone meet you where you are on your healing journey by helping you identify coping skills as well as assisting you with identifying your triggers and behaviors is important during times when you are unable to identify these things on your own.
I can assist by listening to my client needs and staying focused on what my client would like to gain from therapy. Focusing on the client is my top priority so meeting them where they are will always be my mindset during each session. Also, educating about behaviors, triggers, and the importance of coping skills.
My ideal client would be open to my observations of their personality; one who knows that I too can learn from them, not only the other way around; who is a good historian and willing to be compliant in sharing pertinent factors to their recovery; one with whom I can establish a basis of mutual trust and who understands that my role as a therapist is not to only tell them what they want to hear; one who can appreciate a good sense of humor; one who is willing to apply my experience, strength and hope to their situation; one who is open to the importance of accepting life on life's terms, particularly the will of God.
Whether or not it's about addiction, I view ACCEPTANCE as the central key to handling our issues or as I once read, "our pain isn't so much in our problems but in our resistance to problems." As for addiction, I can sum it up by saying when you've found your bottom, then the only way is up. Until then you just have more research to do.
I work with young people ages 3- 22 who have suffered loss: home, parent or loved one and other traumas. These young people often suffer with anxiety, depression, confusion, PTSD as well as some obsessive-compulsive tendencies. I work with those who have suicidal ideation, who struggle to overcome their prior trauma. They may not be aware the trauma is impacting and influencing their thoughts and behaviors today.
I offer evidence based therapy, utilizing techniques from Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, as well as Family Therapy and experiential therapies. I offer empathy in a safe space where you can learn to process as well as cope with your prior experience; to consolidate those experiences into who you are now.
If you have experienced trauma - on any scale, I have been trained to approach your circumstance in an understanding way. I have gained knowledge from my own life experience which allows for greater empathy toward those who feel as though they have no voice, feel isolated, victimized or who simply need support. Please contact me for availability.
I have experience in child welfare and schools. These areas have provided me with expertise in helping clients manage their life stressors and develop positive coping skills. My warm, but direct approach will help you address your concerns and develop positive solutions to navigate life in the healthiest way possible.
The place of discomfort can be very unpleasing, and that I can relate. You are not alone in this fight. Treat yourself right by starting today! I empathize with you and where you are currently. Life can be very difficult to manage, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope is realistic!
