Where Medicaid Fits on the Indiana List
If your coverage is Traditional Medicaid or comes through MHS, it matches a name on Infinity’s accepted Indiana list. If you are not sure which type of Medicaid coverage you have, your plan’s member services line or the state Medicaid program can tell you. The full Indiana list is on Indiana Insurance Plans.
Indiana Medicaid coverage can be provided through different plans, and some insurance companies offer Medicaid products alongside their other plans. Seeing a familiar company name does not by itself confirm that your Medicaid plan is accepted, so if your coverage comes through any plan other than Traditional Medicaid or MHS, call the office before scheduling.
Confirming Medicaid Coverage for Counseling
Confirming ahead of time can prevent confusion at your first appointment. Coverage details can change, so check that your coverage is active before you begin and again whenever you receive a new card. If something on your card looks unfamiliar, your plan’s member services line can explain it.
- 01Locate your member ID card and note the plan name exactly as printed.
- 02Call the member services number on the card and ask whether outpatient counseling is covered.
- 03Ask if a referral or approval is needed before counseling starts.
- 04Call Infinity at (219) 472-8277 to confirm the office can see you under that plan.
What to Have Ready When You Call
Having a few details nearby makes the conversation smoother for everyone. Keep in mind that the online contact form is not monitored for emergencies and is not the place for urgent or highly sensitive medical information.
- 01Your member ID number
- 02The plan name as it appears on your card
- 03The name of the person who will attend counseling, if it is not you
- 04For a child’s counseling, the child’s member ID rather than a parent’s
- 05The type of counseling you are interested in
- 06A phone number where the office can reach you
Family Counseling and Other Services
Counseling at Infinity takes four forms: individual, couples, family, and child and adolescent. Family Counseling supports families working through conflict, behavioral concerns, parenting challenges and major transitions, and Child & Adolescent Counseling brings in parents and caregivers when appropriate. Ask how your coverage applies to the specific service you are considering.
Infinity also has a DCS Department and Home Based staff. If your family’s situation involves the Indiana Department of Child Services, DCS and Home-Based Services offers general information, and questions about the case itself are best directed to your DCS family case manager.
