Indiana Insurance Plans for Counseling

Using insurance can make counseling more accessible, and knowing which plans are accepted is a practical first step. This page lists the Indiana plans accepted at Infinity Counseling & Wellness Center in Crown Point and explains how to confirm what your own plan covers.

A list can tell you whether your insurance company is accepted. It cannot tell you exactly what your policy includes, which is why the steps further down this page matter too.

Accepted Indiana Plans

Infinity accepts the Indiana insurance plans listed below. Plans are listed separately for Indiana and Illinois, and the complete picture for both states is on Insurance & Coverage.

  • 01BCBS
  • 02Aetna
  • 03Humana
  • 04Cigna
  • 05Ambetter
  • 06Highmark
  • 07Optum

Why the Plan Name Is Only the Start

One insurance company can offer many different products, such as employer plans, individually purchased plans and plans for Medicare or Medicaid members. Each product can have its own network, benefits and requirements, so two cards with the same company name do not always mean the same coverage.

Your specific plan determines whether outpatient counseling is covered, whether anything is required before you begin and what portion of the cost, if any, you may be responsible for. Before your first appointment, check your specific plan and benefits with both the office and your insurer.

Medicare, MHS and Traditional Medicaid

Medicare, MHS and Traditional Medicaid all appear on the Indiana list. Medicare is listed for Indiana only and is not one of the Illinois plans.

If you have Medicare, Counseling With Medicare in Indiana covers what to check. If you have Indiana Medicaid coverage, Counseling With Indiana Traditional Medicaid explains how to confirm your coverage and what to have ready when you call. Some insurance companies offer both commercial and Medicaid products, so a familiar company name on a Medicaid card does not settle the question by itself; if your Medicaid coverage comes through a plan other than Traditional Medicaid or MHS, contact the office before scheduling.

How to Confirm Your Coverage

A few steps before your first appointment can save time and uncertainty later. When you call, it also helps to ask how your plan applies to the specific service you are considering, such as individual, couples, family, or child and adolescent counseling. How to Check Your Mental Health Benefits walks through more questions to ask.

  • 01Have your insurance card ready, including your member ID and plan name.
  • 02Call the member services number on your card and ask about outpatient mental health counseling.
  • 03Ask whether a referral or prior authorization is needed before counseling begins.
  • 04Call Infinity at (219) 472-8277 to confirm the office can work with your specific plan.

If Your Plan Is Not Listed

If you do not see your plan here, contact the office before ruling out counseling at Infinity. Insurance names and accepted plan lists can change over time, and a quick call is the most reliable way to get a current answer about your coverage. Share the exact plan name from your card so the team can look into the right plan.

Does Infinity accept Anthem and BCBS in Indiana?

Yes, both Anthem and BCBS are on Infinity’s list of accepted Indiana plans. Because these companies offer many products with different benefits, confirm your specific plan with the office and with your insurer before your first appointment. Having your member ID ready when you call makes it easier to identify your plan accurately.

Is the Indiana list the same as the Illinois list?

No. Infinity keeps separate lists for Indiana and Illinois. Aetna appears on both, but Medicare appears only on the Indiana list, and Illinois has its own commercial and Medicaid plans. If your coverage is through an Illinois plan, review the Illinois lists on the Insurance & Coverage page and contact the office with any questions.

What should you do if your insurance changes?

Let the office know as soon as you learn about the change, and share your new plan name and member ID. A new card can mean different benefits even when the insurance company stays the same, so check the new plan’s mental health coverage with your insurer before your next appointment.
